On a warm spring evening, 450 guests joined to celebrate True Colors Theater’s annual auction fundraiser. “Greens by Day and Blues in the Night” is a daytime celebrity golf tournament followed by a classy evening gala. After an ornate display of delicious tropical foods, a live jazz band invited all the guests to dance the night away.
The grandeur of this event reflects True Colors Theater’s personality and bold vision for the arts. The company interprets world drama and holds a strong commitment to diverse new voices, helping to develop those early-career writers who are creating tomorrow’s classics today.
These artists’ stately accomplishments are the product of dedication and precision. And with more than 20 years in the catering industry, we have also perfected our craft. Without further ado, let us tell you how the beautiful night unfolded!
Blues in the Night
The evening’s host welcomed a star-studded guest list of local and national film and sports celebrities into his luxury home in the Buckhead neighborhood. For the sixth time, our professional catering team and trusted vendors were there to create a magical event.
An Adventure in Tropical Cuisine
The annual celebratory gala for the True Colors Theater company could only be complete with a unique menu created just for its honorable guests. As the only Atlanta-based catering company serving a majority of local, organic foods, the fresh flavors we used in these custom dishes were divine. The whole roasted pig may have turned some heads, but the farm-fresh sides completed the gastronomic experience.
A perfect mix of rich, zesty Pacific flavors and Southern cuisine dazzled the crowd and prepared them for an evening of dancing and fun!

Festive Event Design Features
The grand open space of the property was a blank canvas painted with a majestic display of green and blue décor. Not only did the setting provide a stately vibe suited for the gala’s famous guest list, but it also made some other guests feel very important! For example, certain high school students from underserved areas attended the gala to receive their prestigious acting scholarships. Rewarded for their accomplishments, these talented students are certainly future stars in the making!
Here are some of the design features that made the event’s tropical, classy event theme come alive:
- Tenting throughout the venue
- Green and blue uplighting
- Satin linens with bold floral designs
- Blazing fire pits for a calming ambience
- A hand-made hot tub cover
- Lounge seating beneath a cabana and outside under the stars
- Bamboo walls to separate the outdoor grilling area from the festivities
As guests entered the party, live background jazz music created a playful ambiance. As the night went on, the live jazz music turned into a full-on soulful band that brought the crowd to their feet for some late-night dancing.
Expert Planning for a Successful Event
A smooth event is only possible when a catering team and its trusted vendors plan everything to perfection. For example, our valet parking partner parked 250 cars in the quiet neighborhood setting. Our catering team bussed for 450 guests to keep the host’s home in pristine condition. And six bartenders served speciality cocktails, blood orange mojitos and the Blue Hawaiian, which softened the bold flavors of the food and kept the crowd going. The planning, preparation and execution of an event is a harmonious art, just like the beauty of the theater celebrated during this special evening.
