What types of events does Avalon cater?

We cater all types of event in your home, office or event facility. We can serve anywhere from 50 to 5000 guests.

How long has Avalon been in business?
Since 1992.

Does Avalon only cater large events?
No, we are happy to provide catering for your small events as well. Our minimum guest count is 20 for breakfast and 15 for lunch. Please call us about evening drop-offs or full service events (some minimums apply).

How many servers do I need for my event?
The number of servers is dependant on many factors - size, logistics, menu design and service style figure prominently. Please call to speak to one of our sales associates about your unique circumstances. The key is to be sure there are (the right amount of staff) to make your event a success.

Can Avalon provide bar services?
Yes, we can provide everything except alcohol and we are fully insured. This includes everything from bartenders to glassware and everything in between. Signature cocktails are our specialty.

How much alcohol do I need for my event?
We use the following calculation to estimate alcohol needs:

3 hour event X 100 guests X 1.5 drinks per person per hour:
450 drinks

40% Wine
30% Beer
10% Non-alcoholic
20% other – specialty drinks, cocktails

180 glasses of wine (there are 6 glasses of wine in a 750ml wine bottle)
135 beers
45 non-al
90 – other

30 bottles of wine

5-6 cases of beer – recommend Heineken, Amstel light, a favorite domestic (Miller, etc) and a microbrew

½ gal vodka
½ gal gin
½ gals whiskey
also – vermouth, rum, tequila, scotch

This is a very general guideline. Quantities vary based on the season, type of event, and age of your guests.

Does Avalon provide tables and chairs?
Yes, we can provide tables and chairs for your event, if needed.

Does Avalon provide glassware and china?
Yes, we can provide glassware and china for your event. We can also provide flatware, silver, unique serving pieces and a full line of unique table settings.

Does Avalon provide linens?
Yes, we offer a wide variety of colors, fabrics and sizes. We pull from local and national linen companies to insure the largest selection and latest styles.

Is Avalon licensed and insured?
Yes, we are fully insured with liability, liquor, and workmen's compensation coverage.

Does Avalon provide floral arrangements?
Yes, we can provide centerpieces for buffets and seating tables. We can also provide full service decor and event scaping.

When do I have to determine my final guest count?
We ask that you give us your final guest count two weeks prior to your event.

Can Avalon help me find an event facility, photographer, DJ, band, wedding cake and tent rentals?
Yes, we can provide a list of recommended facilities, photographers, DJs, bands and more. Please see the services section of our web site for more information. We can also handle the details for you.

How much notice is needed to plan an event?
The complexity of the event will dictate the lead time. We will do everything we can to accommodate last minute requests, however, because our calendar typically books up quickly, it is best to contact us as early as possible.

Do you offer a children’s menu?
Yes, we can provide kid-friendly food. Just let us know the number of children and age range and we will recommend appropriate menu items and pricing.
