TOP ATLANTA EVENT FOOD TRENDS 2018

Top Atlanta Event Food Trends 2018

Fresh, healthy and full of Southern charm—are we talking about our culinary creations or the latest food trends? To keep us among the top Atlanta catering companies, our chefs are constantly on the lookout for new food ideas. Of course, they are thrilled when the hottest food trends align with our fresh kitchen values. And so, they are delighted to see these healthy food trends on the rise.

Let’s take a look at these culinary trends that will blossom in 2018.

Fresh Food Trends on the Rise

Vegetables Take Center Stage

Or should we say center plate? When looking to create a main dish out of vegetables, think Middle Eastern. Always trendy and with a wide variety of vegetarian options, you can easily combine two food trends in one with a dish like Shirin Polo: a classic celebration rice dish of sweetened basmati rice layered with saffron, orange zest, almonds and pistachios.

And for you overachievers, take this trend a step further by looking toward vegan dishes that highlight the vegetables. One of our favorite ways to do this is by stuffing mushrooms. Our vegan quinoa mushroom consists of portabella mushrooms stuffed with tri-color quinoa and cool weather farmer veggies. Served warm from a chafer and finished with a great deal of organic herbs and a little lemon zest, this hits on more food trends than we can count.

Hybrid Food Innovations

Speaking of combining top food ideas—this is a trend in and of itself! And it’s something that comes naturally to our creative chefs. Desserts provide endless opportunities for hybridization. On our menus you will find crazy (good) creations like our Mexican hot chocolate crackle cookie.

Korean Cuisine

Ah yes, we do love global cuisine. Middle Eastern, Mexican, and now we’re seeing a lot more Korean. Could this be the result of the increasing popularity of key ingredients like kimchi? Whatever the cause, we are on board with this 2018 food trend.

At 2018 Atlanta events, we expect a high demand for our noodle bar, where guests can create their own custom noodle bowl from the ingredients listed below:

  • Grilled Sesame Sriracha Springer Mountain Chicken
  • Soy Lime Sautéed The Soy Shop Tofu
  • Soba Buckwheat Noodles & Bean Thread Rice Noodles
  • Stir-Fry of Baby Bok Choy, Green Beans and Carrots
  • Toppings Organic Georgia peanuts, sliced organic scallions, bean sprouts, organic cilantro, organic matchstick carrots, lime squeezes
  • Sauces Georgia ginger tahini vinaigrette and sesame tamari vinaigrette

And while we love Korean cuisine, we encourage you to look to your own heritage when designing an ethnic menu. The National Restaurant Association forecasts that ethnic foods of all sorts will be trendy in 2018, so feel free to stray from Korean dishes.

Colorful Cuisine

Nature gives us the beautiful gift of colorful fresh ingredients, so make them shine in your menu. We know we experience food not only through taste, so choosing organic local ingredients that are bursting with color will make for more delicious food in more ways than one. People are seeking out fruits and vegetables in food offerings, so don’t make their search a difficult one. Few can pass by our colorful rosemary roasted beets and organic carrots in a shallot butter glaze.

Floral Flavors

Lavender and violet will find their way into more dishes and desserts this year—lending themselves perfectly to the natural food trend and icing. Our lemon thyme icebox cookie is already incredibly popular. Set them out in a corporate event, and you will have some very happy employees. We also love how easy this food trend makes decorating your dessert station—bring out the floral accents!
